Yoga is a holistic discipline encompassing spiritual, mental, and physical practices that trace their origins to pre-Vedic Indian traditions, with mentions even in the Rig Veda. Consistent yoga practice enhances flexibility, balance, endurance, and physical strength, while meditation complements this by sharpening the mind, reducing stress, and fostering overall well-being. Daily morning sessions are scheduled for the guests staying at the SHIVIR.

Puja (rituals) have been of great significance since time immemorial to seek blessings of the divine. They are kept for the health and prosperity of family members at important moments in life, from birth to death. These rituals are often personal in nature and organised for varied reasons, with duration usually linked to planetary alignment and positions.
The word yajna comes from the root yaj, which means worshipping and sacrificing oneself in the Vishwarupa Paramatman's selfless service. The Bhagavad Gita classifies the Yajnas as Jnanayajna and Dravya-yajnas. The process of yagya involves the harmonious interplay of two powerful energies: sound, in the form of Vedic hymns, and heat, generated in the yajna kund. Together, these energies transform and channel energy into a beneficial form that promotes individuals' physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. Guests staying at the SHIVIR can join and participate in such yagyas, and/or special yagyas can also be organised for them.
Vedic wisdom offers profound insights into our true nature and our role within the grand design of the universe. Just as life can seem like a complex jigsaw puzzle, this ancient knowledge helps us align each piece correctly, gradually revealing the complete picture of our purpose and existence. At its core, the Vedas embody the fundamental understanding of life and its deeper meaning. Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and learning, represents the free flow of wisdom and consciousness. She is the mother of the Vedas, and chants to her, called the Saraswati Vandana, often begin and end Vedic lessons. The goddess of wisdom, art, and music, she is the daughter of Lord Shiva and Goddess Durga. Guests staying at the SHIVIR can join and participate in lectures and sessions by eminent practitioners of Vedas, thereby understanding and enriching life and spirituality
Rooted in the Vedas, India’s ancient system of knowledge, Vedic astrology is based on the belief that the stars and planets have a powerful influence on our lives. According to the Vedas, life is meant for spiritual growth. This growth is, in part, facilitated by karma, the concept that every thought and action has a corresponding reaction and that a person’s karma is directly related to the position of the planets and stars, and thus astrology is the method of understanding one’s karma by analysing these positions.
According to the Vedas, one’s future is determined by two things: destiny and free will. Destiny refers to the various situations we encounter in life, while free will is how we react to them through thought and action. How we react creates further karma, determining our future situations. In other words, our destiny is created by our free will. Known initially as jyotish, or “the science of light,” Vedic astrology is considered by many to be the eye of the Vedas because it is meant to guide individuals who feel lost or confused in their life’s journey.
Guests staying at the SHIVIR can join and participate in such soul-awakening conference sessions by eminent practitioners of Vedic astrology, thereby understanding their life’s journey.
